Christmas time!

Christmas is upon us!  We are decking the halls to celebrate the season.  Christmas trees made from handprints, nativity scenes, and angels telling the true meaning of Christmas! 

The Leaves are falling!

The leaves are turning, the weather is cooling, fall is here!  We are having a great time at SMPK creating a variety of fall leaves!

Farm Scene Fun!

We have been having some down on the farm fun!  Our farm scenes from our 2's, 3's and Kindergarten have turned out great!  They are a great display of a variety of the lessons we are learning this month.  We have talked about everything on the farm from animals to apples. Our creative teachers put together a farm scene to display some of the children's hard work

Cows teach us to follow directions

Our Four's learned to follow directions by making adorable Cows.  They created their cows according to different questions they answered.  They enjoyed making these cute creations that are now displayed in the hall!

Farm Fun!

We have been having a great time with our farm animals.  Everything from horses to ducks make a great platform for not only fun time crafts but an opportunity to learn letters and numbers too!

Down on the Farm

We're heading down on the farm this month!  We've been making cows, sheep, and pigs and there is much more to come!

Stop Sign Fun

While learning about community helpers, we have had  fun making stop signs in each age group.  The 2's learn about the color red and letter recognition, and the Kindergartners worked on more advanced skills while working on stop signs.  What a great way to learn concepts through play!

Community Helpers Projects

We have had so much fun this month talking about our Community Helpers.  We have had visits from the firemen, the sheriff, and the doctor.  We have learned about many of the other community helpers as well; the mailman, the dentist, bakers and more!  While doing many of the fun crafts the kids have also been learning about letters, numbers, and colors.  Here are some of the fun crafts we have made!

Peanut Returns to Nature

Hopefully you have had a chance to come meet our squirrel, Peanut.  After falling out of a tree when he was days old, he has been raised to become a healthy, happy squirrel.  He is now ready to go back to nature.  Today  we are bringing him to a local nature preserve where he can learn squirrel ways and be set free!

We will be updating you with all of the fun things our school is up to!  We have a creative learning environment full of great ideas we would like to share.  Keep checking back to see what we're up to now!  

This month is our Community Helpers theme.  We have already had the Firetruck and Sheriff visit.  This week we will be having the doctor come for a visit! Our creative teachers have come up with numerous fun crafts to help the kids learn their abc's and 123's.  More posts to come soon!!
